Leaders are given to the church for very specific purposes.  Leaders are to equip all members for works of service by providing to each member whatever is needed for authentic maturity reflecting the image of Christ.  Further, they are to provide an environment that allows for the discovery and meaningful implementation of each member's giftedness.  Leaders give themselves to others in order to empower them to pursue their full potential in God's plan for their lives.
