What We Believe:
The Savior:
We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and
therefore, he is God. God is the sovereign creator of the universe who created
man in his image. However, because of sin, all men have fallen from God's
glory. In order to bring man back into God's family, Jesus Christ came to this
world being born of a virgin. He suffered death on a Roman cross, was buried in
a tomb, and he was raised from the grave on the third day. God, through his
grace, offers salvation to all who believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God
and that through his death our sins are forgiven, and because of his
resurrection we have hope of eternal life.
The Believer:
We believe the Bible teaches all who come to Jesus
Christ by faith, must be baptized by immersion. Through baptism we reenact
Christ's death, burial, and resurrection. Upon becoming a disciple of Christ,
a person receives the gift of the Holy Spirit and is added to the fellowship of
believers.
The Assembly:
As the fellowship of believers we are called to
assemble together regularly to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and
Savior. We believe that Communion is the center of our assembly. By partaking
of Communion each week, we are accepting the invitation of the Lord to dine with
him and reflect upon His goodness toward us, and our gratitude toward him. We
are edified by singing, admonished and encouraged by teaching, share through our
giving, and humbled through prayer.
The Word:
We believe that the Bible is the infallible word of
God, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and thus provides all that we need in order to
be instructed in God's way. Accordingly, God's word calls us to imitate Christ,
by becoming unselfish servants and in love: minister to those in need, teach the
good news of the kingdom, seek to worship God in spirit and truth, and encourage
one another until His return. We look forward to His return, at which time we
will realize our full redemption.
